Mr. Dionysius de S Tudawe

Tudawe Brothers was the brainchild of the late Mr. Lawrence de S Tudawe, a Diploma Holder in Building Construction from Ceylon Technical College and his brother, the late Mr. Dionysius de S Tudawe, who had a passion for construction.

In 1942, the brothers identified the need for a sustainable domestic construction firm in Sri Lanka and established Tudawe Brothers as a partnership.

Subsequently, it was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1947 as Tudawe Brothers Limited, under the Companies Ordinance of 1938.

The company which was established as a family business grew to become one of Sri Lanka's premier engineering construction firms, offering end-to-end engineering solutions in compliance with international quality standards.

Even during the British colonial times, when foreign construction companies were the preferred contractors, Tudawe Brothers changed the mindset of the Customers through quality construction and proved that domestic contractors could do better and cheaper. Seven decades later, the portfolio of Tudawe Brothers presents some of the country's most challenging and high profile construction projects.
