Project Description
.
The Grandbell Hotel, a premier 4-star hospitality development, has been successfully completed in Kollupitiya, strategically located adjacent to the railway station along Marine Drive. The project comprises an iconic twin tower architectural design, each rising to 26 floors, complemented by a six story car park structure. The development accommodates 291 luxury guest rooms, ensuring both comfort and elegance for visitors. To enhance the guest experience, the facility includes two fine-dining restaurants, three modern kitchens, a spa and wellness center, a fully equipped gymnasium, a dance studio, a meeting room for business travelers, and a striking infinity swimming pool with pool bar.
From a civil and structural engineering perspective, the project integrates several advanced systems and specialized facilities. Vertical transportation is efficiently handled by six passenger lifts and two service lifts. Universal accessibility has been ensured through the installation of ramps, grab rails, and other supportive features for differently abled guests. Safety standards have been rigorously applied with a comprehensive fire detection and protection system throughout the premises. Aesthetically, the project showcases a lava stone granite feature wall and a landscaped entrance pond with seating, enhancing the overall ambience. The building envelope has been finished with a seven-coat protective paint system, ensuring both durability and long-term visual appeal.
The hotel’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure is equally robust, including a 630 KVA backup generator, a central hot water supply system, and a fully integrated air-conditioning system, guaranteeing uninterrupted comfort for guests. With a total built-up area of 29,688.3 m², the Grandbell Hotel now stands as a landmark mixed-use hospitality development along Colombo’s coastline, reflecting excellence in architectural design, structural engineering, and project execution.
