Mr. Dionysius de S Tudawe
Tudawe Brothers was the brainchild of the late Mr. Lawrence de S Tudawe, a Diploma Holder in Building Construction from Ceylon Technical College and his brother, the late Mr. Dionysius de S Tudawe, who had a passion for construction. In 1942, the brothers identified the need for a sustainable domestic construction firm in Sri Lanka and established Tudawe Brothers as a partnership.
Subsequently, it was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1947 as Tudawe Brothers Limited, under the Companies Ordinance of 1938. The company which was established as a family business grew to become one of Sri Lanka’s premier engineering construction firms, offering end-to-end engineering solutions in compliance with international quality standards.
Even during the British colonial times, when foreign construction companies were the preferred contractors, Tudawe Brothers changed the mindset of the Customers through quality construction and proved that domestic contractors could do better and cheaper. Seven decades later, the portfolio of Tudawe Brothers presents some of the country’s most challenging and high profile construction projects.

| 2017 | Environment Management System of our Company was up graded to the ISO 14001:2015 Standards. Our registration with CIDA was elevated to the new highest grade of CS2 introduced for domestic contractors. Won another National Award for Construction Performance (for Civil Engineering Projects). |

| 2015 | Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA - formerly known as ICTAD), presented us with National Awards for Construction Excellence, Green Construction Excellence and Construction Performance. |
| 2014 | The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka presented our Company with the Engineering Excellence Award. The Institution for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) conferred National Awards for Construction Excellence and Construction Performance to two of our projects. |
| 2013 | Our Environment Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System were certified to conform to ISO 14001:2004 and 18001:2007 Standards, respectively. |
| 2012 | We became the first and only Sri Lankan Construction Company to have been recognized by the Chartered Institute of Building of the United Kingdom as a Chartered Building Company. |
| 2010 | 2010 onwards, the Company commences High Tension Power Sector works and ventures into the Irrigation & Water Management sector. |
| 2000 | Tudawe Brothers begins Construction Industry Services such as quarry operation, aggregate production and asphalt concrete production, forming a separate division. |
